Welcome to Lombok Indonesia Tours

The amazing Gili Islands in Indonesia, just off the equally incredible island of Lombok, is an ideal destination for any holiday. The Gili Islands offer some of the best coral reef snorkelling anywhere in the world, while Lombok is a step into the past… a slower life, with coral sand beaches lined with swaying palms, its entire scene dominated by the active volcano ‘Mount Rinjani’, the second largest volcano in Indonesia. Lombok Indonesia Tours offer tours to both the Gili islands and Lombok, with professional tours to all of the best attractions and locations on both Lombok and the Gili Islands. About the Gili Islands… The Gili Islands are made up of three islands, all quite close to each other, but each has its own distinct personality and charm. Surrounded by gleaming white coral sand, and closely lined with coconut palms, the scene is reminiscent of a picture postcard setting. Motorised transport is not allowed on any of the Gili Islands, so to get around you can use your feet, hire a bicycle, or use the local taxi service which is a horse drawn cart known as a ‘Cidomo’ (pronounced “Chi Doh Mo”) The pace is slow, so getting around on foot is the ideal… there is nowhere to rush to on the Gili Islands! Gili Trawangan… regularly described as “the party island” has become the hub for tourists from all over the world escaping their own winter and seeking a tropical island paradise.  Offering an extensive choice of resort accommodation as well as private villas and home-stays, Gili Trawangan is the night-life centre of all three islands, with numerous bars and excellent restaurants adorning the beach-front. Most tourism based businesses are on ‘Gili T’, though more are expanding to take in the other two islands. The original village of Gili Trawangan is located just back from the beach front, and appears to be little visited by tourists who seem to prefer the main “tourist strip” where they can see and be seen. Gili Air…  very much “laid back”, Gili Air is only just now beginning to show signs of development.  There are a wide range of accommodations available, though not to the same level of those found on Gili Trawangan.  If you like the feeling of being part of a local community, then Gili Air is the ideal choice for you. Gili Meno… or “the small island” is, as the name suggests, the smaller of the three Gili Islands.  This does not mean it is any less worth visiting though, as it has an ambience of its own… relaxed, quiet, and very romantic for couples.  Sure, it doesn’t have the bars and entertainment of Gili Trawangan, but it is still certainly worth a visit. Gili Meno is the closest to Gili Trawangan, and local boats may be hired (or you can catch the daily outrigger “shuttle service” between all of the islands at very reasonable costs. Note:  If catching the local boats, don’t buy from the many touts… go to the ticket office.  Ask at any of the local shops and they will happily point you in the right direction. About Lombok…  Lombok is a big island with everything you could want… waterfalls, temples, traditional Sasak villages, amazing traditional arts and crafts, wonderful beaches (some of the best and most picturesque in the world) with very fine sand (you will find most beaches on the Gili Islands have quite coarse coral sand and broken pieces of coral which are sharp on the feet), the amazing Mount Rinjani volcano, which is still very active, a great night life and just about anything in between! Lombok is full of extremely friendly people, a bit like Bali was many years ago before commercial activity changed it forever. If you are wanting a wide variety of experiences, then Lombok would be the best choice for you… it has everything a great tropical paradise island should have!
